So as September ended yesterday, I thought I'd talk about the books I read and the things that happened to me during that month. I hope that's okay with you? It is? Good!
So first of all, what happened in September? I started my second year at sixth form! I'm studying English Literature AS and A2, English Language AS and A2 and Theatre Studies. I also met someone in late August / early September who has completely changed my life around. My amazing boyfriend, Andy, came into my life at the end of August, and on the 8th September he became my boyfriend. We've been inseparable since. So! This leads me onto the books I read this month.
Books I read in September...
1. Room - Emma Donoghue | 2. Dark Inside - Jeyn Roberts
Now, I know what you're thinking. I usually read more than just two books! So what went wrong this month? Well, honestly. I spent too long trying to read one book when I knew there was no hope for it. I was reading the same book for three weeks before I finally convinced myself to give up on it because I just wasn't getting into it. I also began school again, so I have been working really hard. Then on top of that I got a boyfriend, so I haven't had as much time to read.
But which one is the book of the month for me? I enjoyed both books, I had nothing negative to say about either one of them... Dark Inside was the first dark book I'd read in a while, since I'd been busy with Dark Romances/ Romances/ Young Adult/ Vampires... you get the jist. So I throughly enjoyed Dark Inside, it was a great idea for a book, the characters were developed well, the plot wasn't guessable and I loved it.
Room was different, it was a horrible topic, turned into fiction, but it was amazing. I didn't want to put it down. But I don't think (as much as I had said I wanted to read Room) I would have picked it up if it wasn't for my teacher who suggested we read it....
So I think...
Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts is the Septembers book of the month!
Aim for October: 5 books
